Color blocking- 2011′s hottest trend that began on the Spring runways managed to last throughout the year. Think big bold blocks of color combined into one.
Pick a color block dress or shirt, like I did. That way, you don’t have to put much thought into pairing colors but you will need to make sure all the colors are flattering, not just one. Once you’re feeling more confident, start to pair separates together. Match a nude color with a bright and then work up to pairing together separate brights.
Imagine bold yellow and a radiant blue. I think it’s important to have a neutral color and not more than one prominent color. Neutral can mean tan, black, white, or grey. Combine a fuschia pink blouse with a nude colored skirt. Then add yellow bracelets to maintain the color blocking theme.
I love the color palette of my shirt. Just the right amout of orange brilliance added to gorgeous neutrals. Sleek black pants and my ankle-cuffed Kelsi Dagger wedges complete the outfit. Oh how I miss the warm weather!
This is my last post before the New Year and I want to wish you all a fabulous New Years! See you in 2012 lovelies! x
