Yellow Tank and Blue Ruffle Skirt

Posted in Bracelets, Color Block, Skirts

Blue and yellow – one of my favorite color combinations! I found this gorgeous cobalt blue diagonal ruffle front skirt at Forever21 and paired it with a soft yellow satin tank. I added my favorite angel wings necklace and blue gem bracelet to compliment the skirt.

To complete the look, I wore my black wedges.

Enjoy!

Yellow Paperbag Waist Skirt

Posted in Bracelets, Color Block, Skirts, teenvogue

Colorblocking is everywhere this Spring. If you’ve tried colorclocking a neutral and bright, now it’s time for more confidence and colorblocking two bold colors! I love how yellow and blue compliment each other so well. The colors come across fun and fresh instead of overpowering and overdone. I love the simplicity of this yellow paperbag waist skirt but the waist detail is incredible, with the pleats and tie belt. I kept the shoes neutral by adding a great black wedge.

To complete the outfit I added some great accessories. The necklace you’ve seen many times, and is a favorite of mine that I picked up at Nordstrom. The bracelet is a great addition with its gorgeous blue stones.

Enjoy!

Denim Leggings

Posted in Color Block, Flats, Leggings, teenvogue

Mixing structured and formal pieces with more casual and laid back items is a dream.

The denim leggings from H&M are so comfortable and have this amazing grey wash. I purchased them on clearance for just $15! The color block tee is also great because its blocking is subtle. I love the way the blue and green colors peek out from under the blazer.

The gorgeous suede clutch with rosettes along the front, was purchased at 75% off at Zara. It adds the perfect amount of feminity to the outfit.

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Color Blocking

Posted in Color Block

Color blocking- 2011′s hottest trend that began on the Spring runways managed to last throughout the year. Think big bold blocks of color combined into one.

Pick a color block dress or shirt, like I did. That way, you don’t have to put much thought into pairing colors but you will need to make sure all the colors are flattering, not just one. Once you’re feeling more confident, start to pair separates together. Match a nude color with a bright and then work up to pairing together separate brights.

Imagine bold yellow and a radiant blue. I think it’s important to have a neutral color and not more than one prominent color. Neutral can mean tan, black, white, or grey. Combine a fuschia pink blouse with a nude colored skirt. Then add yellow bracelets to maintain the color blocking theme.

I love the color palette of my shirt. Just the right amout of orange brilliance added to gorgeous neutrals. Sleek black pants and my ankle-cuffed Kelsi Dagger wedges complete the outfit. Oh how I miss the warm weather!

This is my last post before the New Year and I want to wish you all a fabulous New Years! See you in 2012 lovelies! x
